🤾‍♀️ WOMEN’S SPORT ⛹️‍♀️

Brazil will host the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Brazil saw off a joint bid from Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands in a vote at FIFA Congress on 17th May.

FIFA also announced that the first-ever Women’s Club World Cup will take place in early 2026.

🎾 The Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) and Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund (PIF) have entered a multiyear partnership. The PIF becomes the only global partner for both men’s and women’s professional tennis tours, and will be the first-ever naming partner of the WTA Rankings, giving them prominent visibility on the circuit.

In celebration of Barbie’s 65th anniversary, Mattel is honouring nine women athletes from around the world including Venus Williams with one-of-a-kind role model dolls made in their likeness.

🌍 CLIMATE ACTION 🌍 

🇬🇧 Recognizing the impact of the increasing adverse weather conditions Sport England has announced Every Move, a comprehensive strategy for dealing with the effects of climate change.

📹 MEDIA & COMMUNICATIONS 📹

🏊‍♀️ Channel 4 will live stream the Paris 2024 Paralympics on YouTube. The UK broadcaster will show more than 1,300 hours of coverage across 18 streams.

🏈 Netflix and the NFL have agree a deal for Christmas Day live game rights - signaling a big step into live sports broadcasting for the streaming provider that has often distanced itself from sports ambitions.

🤳 TikTok is testing 60 minute videos in a bid to challenge YouTube’s sporting dominance. Increasing the limit to 60 minutes would make it possible for influencers and other creators to experiment with different types of video, allow rights holders and broadcasters to host documentaries and other original content, and extend the duration of match highlights.

PlaySight, a global leader in sports technology, and broadcast media company Cracked Racquets have announced a strategic partnership aimed at transforming the broadcasting experience in racquet sports.

🏟️ FAN EXPERIENCE 🏟️

🏎️ F1 Arcade, the world’s first F1 experiential hospitality brand, has announced Las Vegas as its third US venue due to open in 2025. F1 Arcade will bring its ‘first-of-its-kind experiential venue with show-stopping hospitality and an electrifying atmosphere’.

Chiliz & Atlético De Madrid introduce innovative Fan Token integration.
The collaboration aims to strengthen the Atlético de Madrid Fan Token, making it more accessible and useful to fans through the club's official app and digital ecosystem, offering more benefits and rewards.

⛹️‍♀️ WNBA steps into VR with livestreams on Meta Quest headsets Meta will again stream 20 WNBA games live on its Quest headsets through the Xtadium app. As well as 180 degree immersive vision, the Quest headset allows for community watch parties and virtual courtside access.
